Rory has two decades of experience working in complex emergencies, conflict zones, and development contexts. He began his career as secondary school teacher where he developed an interest in education extension programs. Since then Rory has worked with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and for-profit ventures focused on programs in educational technology, education extension, and international development. His experience includes 8 years living and working in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, the West Bank, and Gaza. Rory received a Master of Arts in Economics and International Development from Johns Hopkins University in 1998.
